楚小莉（由黄圣依饰演）与三位好友 embark on an adventure to explore the culture of the 库依族. Along their journey, they plan to stay at a friend's house of 小莉's father. However, instead of the homeowner, they are met by a creepy man, whose arrival brings a sense of dread. At the same time, a young employee from a state-owned enterprise, 周栋（由陈思成饰演）, visits 潘家镇 to meet a retired elder, 黄老爷子. At the 东风旅社, he accidentally befriends a weathered-looking middle-aged man. As their friendship grows, 周栋 provides him with a lesson on modern relationships between men and women. However, 周栋 does not foresee that his somewhat arrogant advice would lead to irreversible consequences. After two decades in prison, this disheartened man finds himself at a crossroads, with his future direction unclear. At this pivotal moment, an unforeseen incident forces him to take a decisive step.
