In the early 1990s, the Yugoslavian authorities revoked Kosovo's autonomy, disbanded its Parliament, and shut down the National Television. The new leadership restructured all institutional life, while most of the population opted for peaceful protests in response. In this difficult period, Fadili, employed as an archivist, faces a dilemma between two undesirable choices. He is left with no option but to reluctantly "swallow" his pride, endure the intense pressure from all directions, and tolerate the negative perception for a single reason: to support his family.
